Little Mistakes That Can Cost You Big Time

Throughout our lives, we have learned that paying attention to little details helps to prevent bigger problems. And although health is one of the greatest treasures we have, we don’t always appreciate it.

Due to the hectic nature of our daily lives, we don’t often give our bodies what they need to function optimally.

Fundamental to our physical health is our nutrition, which makes it the simplest way to avoid some of the most common mistakes we tend to make.

-Drinking too little water

So often we don’t drink enough water, and without realizing it we’re depriving our bodies of the chance to detoxify correctly.

In general, it is recommended that we drink around two liters of water per day. Remember that milk, juice, and some fruits and vegetables contain a good amount of water, so you should also consider including them in your diet. Another helpful suggestion is to limit beverages that contain a lot of caffeine, alcohol, or sugar (such as coffee, tea, beer, wine, and soda).

“Each person’s needs may be different, so ask your health professional how much water you should be drinking every day.” (1)

-Eating too many carbs and not enough fruit and vegetables

Sometimes we just don’t feel like eating the fruits and vegetables in the refrigerator or including them in our meals. Almost without thinking about it, we opt for processed foods, or even fast food, since it’s so much faster and easier in satisfying our hunger. However, these foods do not give us the nutrients we need. The best thing we can do is to exchange these for more natural options, since they not only deliver the nutrients we need, but they do it with a much lower caloric count, and that’s what will help us to maintain a healthy weight.

Being aware of these problems helps us to change our habits, and ultimately our health, for the better. You are the one who makes the final decision.
